The Marketing Society’s “Leading in Uncertain Times”

A really great session this morning from The Marketing Society and the final instalment of the “Leading in uncertain times” series which had Anni Townend, Russell Pocock, Harriet de Swiet and Moritz von der Linden contributing.
I wanted to pick up on some brilliant points made by Moritz von der Linden from Mars about what contributes to building great agency relationships with brands:
1. One team, true collaboration:
In a day-to-day meeting with both agency and brand, a new person in the room should not be able to tell who is who.
2. Trusted partnership:
Share everything with your agency and expect sharing back.
3. A shared agenda:
The complete team should be invested in the brands and business.
4. Clear roles & responsibilities:
Be very clear on who does what.
5. Spend time together
Virtually or physically. Colocation is beneficial.
6. Skin in the game
When the business succeeds everyone should benefit.
7. Celebrate & Repeat
In hectic times like these, you have to take time to celebrate the successes, recognise them and do more of it.
